I'm building a house for my family in Mystic, CT, that will have a jacuzzi bathtub with a marble tile surround. What is the best way to install electric radiant heat below this in order to heat the horizontal top of the surround? Basically, how much do I need to account for between the bottom of the marble tiles and the top of the rough housing the jacuzzi will rest in?

Thanks.

Jeff

Are you only looking to heat the Jacuzzi and not the floor?

I just want to use the electric radiant under the tile that will form the top of the jacuzzi surround. (Separately, I"m using Quik Trak to heat the floor in the bathroom).

If you already own the qucik trak, thenthere's nothing you can do to heat such a small area. If you don't own the quick trak, you can buy a low voltage radiant system and cut the element (you'll need the optional splice kit), jump it up to the surround, run the element around the surround and then "jump" back down to the floor to finish up. Low voltage systems are a custom fit, single cable element that you run through out the room at specific spacing for the dimensions you have to work with. The surround area alone would be too small to buy a system for.

If you don't own the QT system, post the floors' square footage and the square footage that encompasses the surround and I'll let yu know whuch system will work for you. It's against the forum's rules to sell here.
