Hi,

I have most of my house done with ThermoFin C underfloor and it works very nicely. I'm rehabbing a room and have decided to do radiant ceiling. I understand that because of the efficiency of this method, a lightweight plate should be all I need, and will be easier to drive sheetrock screws through when hanging the wallboard.

I'm finding that my choices on lightweight plates seem to be dubious-looking, inexpensive eBay products, or plates that exceed the cost of the thermofin. Although it seems crazy to pay more for a lightweight plate than for an extruded plate, I'm at my wit's end in trying to select a product.

Mostly what I want is assurance that I won't pay the thermofin price and get an eBay type product. If the product is well-made and a reasonable thickness, I'm willing to pay -- after all, it's only one room.

Can anyone recommend a well-made lightweight plate (and possibly even a supplier that can ship) so that I know I'm getting my money's worth?

The biggest challenge seems to be getting info on the thickness of the plate. They can range from .011 to about .025 I understand.

Thanks very kindly,

Tim

you should certainly be able to get people to send you samples of their plates. hopefully that would be enough to make a decision!
