Folks,
We have recently expanded our snow sensor line with the new DS-224. It is similar to our other sensors but operates from 24VAC/VDC rather than line voltage. Along with our standard controls for trigger temperature and delay adjustment it also provides a selectable 30-90 minute drying cycle or a 2-6 hour drying cycle. A new control has also been added to allow precipitation sensitivity adjustment. When set for highest sensitivity the DS-224 will trigger immediately, just like our other units. When sensitivity is decreased, however, the sensor can ignore an occurrence of snow blown on to the grid from the roof or a drift or very light snow that doesn't justify activating the snow melt system. The sensor actually samples the precipitation grid and tracks how often snow is detected or not detected. When consistent snowfall is detected the sensor triggers. For more information visit our webpage at www.goase.com/ds224.htm to see if the DS-224 will fit your application. Thanks, Dan Mullin Automated Systems Engineering, Inc.
