Hello, I recently built a vacation home and had a Munchkin T80M installed. More than once I have found the boiler in some error state, however, I cannot seem to find the error code.
The boiler is showing 'NC' on the panel. If I power cycle the boiler it fires back up and starts to run.
The only other coorelation I can see is some sporadic power outages (20-30seconds maximum each) that seem to preceed the failure.
Since the home is remote I am not always around to see what happened leading to the failure.
Any help woule be appreciated.

I think I have some extra codes at the office. I'll let you know tomorrow.

NC = neutral connection.
If this appears on the display it is usually the result of an improper neutral connection supplying the boiler. Check all wiring, assuring that the neutral is connected and that ground has no stray current in it.

Yeah, the manufacturer stated the same thing. I don't think the circuit has neutral problems, I think it is related to the strange power outages that happened repeatedly for about 6 minutes (every 1-2 minutes).
The Munchkin manufacturer reccomended that I put a UPS between the boiler and the power to prevent such sporadic situations.
Now I have to get it from hard-wire to power cord. Ugh.
Anyone know a way that I can remotely monitor the status of the Munchkin? Does it close a relay on the board I can sense when it locks out?
Mark, i too have a munchkin, 140 it is in a vacation home. when i got up last night i was getting the nc error also. i'm glad i found your post. i will contact tech support and do what u did. i am setting my boiler up to dial in tstats so i can monitor my temperature away from home. it doesn't monitor the boiler, just the temp of the house

I had this same problem. The resolution to the problem was to make sure the ground connection was directly connected to the ground wire of your electrical. The controller in these boilers does not like anything but a pure signal from the ground.
I just saw the same "NC" code on a T50M and they experienced a flickering of the power as well. It is an old building with an old FUSE box. How do you explain they need to rewire the house? Sounds like poor disclosure by Munchkin and/or their reps. But I spose it may hurt sales if the customer new going in. Maybe a class action lawsuit in the making.
The manufacturer's requirement for a "clean" ground is not unusual or unreasonable. You have a high performance gas-fired appliance that is controlled by a microprocessor.
Class action suit....what nonsense is this?
Ever had a computer problem unrelated to the hardware? Ever get a bad tank of gas? Ever eat something that made you sick?
Electrical training for installation personnel...priceless.
You missed the point. I agree a "clean" ground is reasonable. Although one would question if it is a "high performance" appliance when a power flicker requires a service call.
What is not reasonable is for a customer to find out two years AFTER the installation that they need a "clean" ground.
