I’m trying to obtain replacement radiant heating panels for my home system and I’m wondering if anyone in this forum can provide help. The system I have was installed
circa 1953 and originally used Zell-Aire Glassheat panels. More recently, InterCentral of Reading Pennsylvania provided replacement SunRay panels, which were improved versions of the originals, but as far as I can determine, InterCentral is no longer in business. The panels are tempered, textured glass, with bonded heating elements on the reverse, approximately 1/8 inch thick. The two sizes I use in my home are 220 Volt, 16 x 24 inch, 1000 Watt, and 15 x 20 inch, 625 Watt units. These fit into an aluminum holder that mounts in a wall frame. I've searched wth web with no good results. I would appreciate any leads to replacement units since this is my sole source of heat and the alternative is a completely new heating system which would entail major renovation. Thank’s for any help in advance.

Some luck?

Talked to someone at Radiant Heat and it looks like these ( http://www.electricheat.com/radiant/prods.html ) replace some / most of the original GlassHeat panels.
Unlike the GlassHeat panels, the "elements" appear to be sealed between a steel back-plate and the ceramic coating and should not suffer shattering or corroded-open circuits like the original.
They also claim a 5 year pro-rated warranty.
A spec sheet is available at: http://www.electricheat.com/radiant/brochures/REH_wall.pdf
Prices for in-stock replacement elements are in the $130 range with $10 UPS "typical".

I'll report back after I get one installed and working.

While these are not glass radiant heat panels, these may be an option for you. http://www.sshcinc.com/BarNone2.htm

I was down at my buddy's garage last night and we got to talking about how to keep warm during the winter time in the garage when he pulled out this infrared radiant glass panel by Sun ray. His grandad built some cabins about 20 years ago for a camp. He ordered a extra panel incase one of them didnt work after being shipped. Every panel worked, So he had a extra panel which is in the grandson has now. He was goin to use it in his garage with it monted to a concrete brick wall. But after i gave he a call he would be will to sell it.

Hello, my name is Shawn and I just recently purchased a home here in NY State. The home is heated VIA a coal stove now, but before the coal stove there were REH sources in every room. Including some high wall mounts also. The coal stove is plenty and Electric heat here is extremely expensive, so we do not use them. Where are you located? Maybe we can work out a deal for what you need, I dont need them, and they are all in perfect working condition, and looks' wise, they are perfect. Shoot me an email at sweaver31@hotmail.com and tell me what you think. Thanks
