Can anyone help me by describing in rather simple terms how to wire 2 Taco 571 Zone valves. I have not purchased a transformer yet. I have a R8182 relay and was'nt sure if I would use that instead of a seperate transformer.

Here is the manual for the Honeywell R8182. See page 6, figure 9 for what you are looking for.
http://customer.honeywell.com/Techlit/Pdf/69-0000s/69-0599.pdf Here is some information on the Taco 571. See the diagram on the bottom left of page 3. http://www.taco-hvac.com/uploads/FileLibrary/ZoneValveBroch.pdf Use a separate transformer to power the thermostat / zone valve circuit. The diagrams are pretty straightforward. |

Due yourself a favor and get a taco zone switching relay you can get them in 2,4,6,or however many zones you want then just run your hot and neutral to the control run your thermostate wires to each relay in the control and run the 3 wires from the zone valves to the relays in the box then run the thermostat wire from the end switch in the control to your 182 control and you done no messing with transformers
